Free Edinburgh event invites public to discover more about Alzheimer’s research

We’re inviting people to come and learn more about Alzheimer’s and brain health research at a free event in Edinburgh this September.

The Art of Brain Health & Research, hosted by Scottish Brain Sciences, will take place at the National Galleries Scotland: Modern One in Edinburgh on Friday 4 September, from 10am to 2pm, as part of World Alzheimer’s Month.

The relaxed drop in event is an opportunity to meet our team, ask questions about Alzheimer’s research and find out what taking part in research or a clinical trial can involve.

You can learn more about current brain health and Alzheimer’s research, developments in earlier diagnosis and treatment, and opportunities to get involved in our research.

Who is the event for?

Everyone is welcome. You may be experiencing changes in your memory, going through the diagnosis process, living with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease, have a family history of dementia, or be supporting a family member or friend.

You’re also very welcome if you’re simply interested in brain health and Alzheimer’s research and would like to find out more.

A representative from Alzheimer Scotland will also be there to provide information and advice for people affected by dementia, including people who have recently received a diagnosis, family members and carers.

There is no obligation to take part in research. You’re welcome to drop in, have an informal conversation with our team and simply find out more.

Optional guided gallery tour

As part of the day, you can also book a place on an optional guided tour of the Gallery at 11am, led by two of the gallery’s experienced guides.

The tour can accommodate up to 35 people, so places are limited and must be booked in advance. You can still attend the Gallery Day without joining the tour.
